OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an anxiety-related condition where a person experiences frequent intrusive and unwelcome obsessional thoughts, often followed by repetitive compulsions, impulses or urges.
Usually a person's OCD will fall into one of the four main categories:
- Contamination / Mental Contamination
- Ruminations / Intrusive Thoughts
Hypnotherapy addresses your thinking so that you can have more control of your OCD. This is important, as many OCD sufferers feel that they are being controlled by OCD.
Hypnotherapy can help to make the distinction between what OCD sufferers feel is true (for example, the door has not been locked, I need to check it several times) and what is actually true (the door is locked, I'm comfortable that I checked it once and it's ok).
